Rabbi Avdimi Dmin Chaifa
Rabbi Avdimi Dman Chaifa was a leading Second and Third Generation Eretz Yisroel Amorah. In some places he is called Rav Dimi Dman Chaifa or Rabbi Avduma of Chaifa. He was a student of Rabbi Levi bar Sisi and Resh Lakish and his pupils included Rabbi Avahu, Rav Zeira and Rabbi Chelbo.

Rabbi Avdimi Dmin Chaifa was the Gadol of his generation and the Rav of Chaifa where we find him issuing a Halachic ruling in the laws of Eruv. He was a student of Levi bar Sisi and Resh Lakish and corresponded with all the leading student of Rabbi Yochanan including Rabbi Yitzchak Nafcha and Rabbi Yitzchak bar Nachman.
Rabbi Avdimi is mention both in the Talmud Bavli and Yerushalmi, where he is called Rabbi Avduma. He is quoted by Rabbi Abba bar Zimna, Rabbi Avahu, Rabbi Yackov bar Acha, Rabbi Birechya, Rabbi Zeira, Rabbi Chananya son of Rabbi Avahu, Rabbi Yishmoel bar Nachmani, Rabbi Levi, Rabbi Simon and Rabbi Pinchas.
Rabbi Avdimi Dmin Chaifa is mentioned in a number of Misdrashim and apparently authored a book of Medrish leaning towards Kabbalistic mysticism.

- Six miracles occurred on the day Chananya, Mishoel and Azarya were saved from the furnace of Nebuchadnezzar; 1) The furnace that was sunken in the ground rose up, for all to see. 2) As the furnace rose cracks created openings in its sealed walls to make the miracle more viewable. 3) All the soldiers from the 4 Kingdoms that partook in the attempted execution were consumed by fire. 4) Nebuchadnezzar himself became half burnt. 5) The large unmovable idol collapsed on its face. 6) Yechezkel brought the dry bones back to life in the Valley of Dura.
- Before a person eats and drinks he has two hearts. After a person eats and drinks he only has one heart.
- In the future Hashem will create 310 worlds for each and every Tzadik.
- From the day the Bais Hamikdash was destroyed, prophecy was taken from the prophets and given to the wise. Meaning, even though prophesy was taken from the prophets it was not taken from the wise.
- When a Chacham passes in front of a person he must stand from when he enters his four cubits until he leaves his four cubits. When the Av Beis Din passes by a person must stand as soon as he enters his sight but can sit once he has left his four cubits. When a Nasi passes, a person must rise as soon as he enters his sight and must remain standing until the Nasi sits down in his place.
