Hillel Nesiah was a 13th generation descendent of Hillel the Elder and a son of Rebbe Yehuda Nessiah III. He lived in Eretz Yisroel during the fifth generation of Amoraim and served as the final Nasi of the Sanhedrin. Seeing the Roman-Christian led prosecution that almost obliterated Jewish life in Eretz Yisroel, Hillel Nesiah gathered his Sanhedrin and established the Jewish months and leap years until the time of Moshiach. He is buried in Dalton, Northern Israel.

Hillel Nesiah was the son of Rebbe Yehuda Nessia III, son of Rebbe Gamliel son of Rebbe Yehuda Nessia II, son of Rebbe Gamliel son of Rebbe Yehuda Nessia I, son of Rabban Gamliel, son of Rebbe Yehudah Hanasi, son of Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel of Usha, son of Rabban Gamliel of Yavneh, son of Shimon ben Gamliel who was killed as one of the Asorah Harugay Malchus, son of Rabban Gamliel the Elder, son of Rebbe Shimon, son of Hillel the Elder.
