A Tana buried in the Tomb of Rebbe Shimon bar Yochi in Meron. |
Rabbi Yitzchok is a Tana buried in the Ohel of the Rashbi in Meron, right after the inner courtyard entrance. While the actual kever is in the cave under the building, it is represented by a Tzion directly above, similar to Rebbe Shimon and Rebbe Elazar. At almost all times the small room of the Tziyun is kept locked up by the management that tries to control the tomb of the Rashbi, forcing people to do Shiticha on it's exterior door.
Identity
Most people assume this is the same Rebbe Yitzchak that is often mentioned in the Zohar who passed away on the same day as Rebbe Shimon bar Yochi. This can not be true since the Arizal states clearly that Rabbi Yitzchok from the Zohar is buried in Wadi Amud. Other sources say it is the Amora Rabbi Yitzchak Nafcha, this is also incorrect since according to the Ari he is buried in Teveria. It must be concluded that the Rabbi Yitzchok buried by the Rashbi is one of the few other Tanaim that carried this name.
