The Artists Colony Inn is a small 4 suite Tzimmer located in the center of Safed’s Old City. Advertised as a boutique hotel experience in Old City Tzfat, the Artists Colony Inn is housed in an old stone building, restored to reflect the area’s traditional architecture.

There are four custom designed guestrooms at the Artist Colony Inn, the Aryeh, Lianna, Tzivya and Avital. Guests can choose a room with a jacuzzi, a view of the Old City or an entrance to one of the Inn’s porches or inner courtyards. Each room is uniquely decorated and designed. All have large queen-sized beds, air conditioning, heating and LCD televisions.

All four rooms contain a joined public lobby, where breakfast is served each morning. Additionally the Artists Colony Inn contains shared courtyards and an outdoor porch with wireless internet access and a small library collection. Coffee and basic refreshments are available in the lobby throughout the daytime and evening hours.

The Artists Colony Inn is owned by Jeff and Benay Katz. Originally from Timrat, the Katzes moved to Tzfat to open a bed and breakfast after their children had all moved out of their house. Benay Katz an English teacher, authored a book 'Waiting for Peace: How Israelis Live with Terrorism'.

The Artist Colony Inn’s owner, Jeff Katz gives tours throughout Tzfat, the Galilee and Golan Heights. Jeff is an experienced licensed guide who takes visitors to out-of-the way sites and allows guests to experience Israel and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of the land.

The Artist Colony Inn accepts reservations for individuals aged 12 and older. Smokers are requested to refrain from smoking within the inn and the inn does not accommodate travelers with pets. Room prices are increased during the holidays and the Klezmer Festival.

Guests at the hotel who stay over the Sabbath or Jewish holidays can order lunches and dinners ahead of time and enjoy the hotel’s Ashkanazi cuisine. The Ron’s restaurant also accepts meal bookings from other non-hotel guests who wish to eat Sabbath or holiday meals in the hotel. In all cases, guests must reserve and pay for their meals before the commencement of the Sabbath or the holiday, as the hotel does not accept payment on the day itself.
