Avigayil's first appearance in Tanach is towards the end of the First Book of Shmuel. At that point she is married to Naval the Carmali, a wealthy landowner from the Tribe of Yehuda. Avigayil is a biblical figure mentioned in the Navi. Originally married to Naval the Carmali she eventually marries Dovid after the death of her first husband. Avigayil was known as a righteous woman who reached the level of prophecy. She was also known for her great beauty and is counted as one of the most beautiful woman to have ever lived.
