Miamon had been ill for a while and Rabbi Getz suggested that he establish a hillulah for the village Tzadik as merit for his recovery, together deciding on Rosh Chodesh Iyar.

On the night of the Hillulah every  house in the villige of Kerem Ben Zimra is requested to light a candle in merit of the Tzadik. Many member of the community then go to the Tziyun of Rebbe Yossi ben Zimra to partake in the reading of the Hillulah book and the Mincha / Mariv prayers. Each male adult is allotted ten pages to recite, circulating through the Hillulah book many times.
