Rabbi Yochanan ben Broka was a third generation Tana, a student of Rabbi Yehoshua ben Chananya and a friend of Rabbi Elazar bar Chamsah. He is mentioned a few times in the Mishna and more often in various Brisos. Rebbe Yochanan ben Broka had a son Rebbe Yishmoel. He lived long and is found arguing with a number of fourth generation Tanaim including Rebbe Meir, Rebbe Shimon, Rebbe Yehuda and Rebbe Yossi.
Kever Rabbi Yochanan ben Baroka
Rabbi Chaim Vital describes the location of Kever Rabbi Yochanan ben Baroka around the Ein Zetim area. For hundreds of years the exact location was forgotten. Recently Yisroel Meir Gabbai and his organization Ohali Tzadikim built a Tzion in the vicinity of Kever Rabbi Yossi Saragosi, saying that based on their research, this was its rough location. Someone must have found this controversial since the original Tzion was broken down. A smaller Tzion was rebuilt in its place.
