Rabbi Yissachar Dov from Zlatshov

'''Rabbi Yissachar Dov from Zlatshov''' was the Rosh Beit Din in Zlatshov, later moving to Eretz Yisroel and settling in [[Safed|Tzfas]]. He is known for his books 'Bat Aniy' on Pilpul and 'Mivaser Tzedek' on the Torah. One of Rabbi Yissachar Dov's main students was [[Rabbi Chaim of Chernovitz]], the Be'er Mayim Chayim. Towards the end of his life, he became blind. Rabbi Yissachar Dov from Zlatshov passed away on the 25th of Av 1795 and was buried in the [[Ancient Tzfat Cemetery|Old Tzfas cemetery]].

==Early Life==
Rabbi Yissachar Dov was born to Rabbi Aryeh Yehuda Leib. His family descended from Rabbi Tzvi Hellman, the third son of Rabbi Chaim of Vermitza, an uncle of the Maharal of Prague. Additionally the family descended from the Maharshal and Rabbi Naftali Katz, the Simichas Chachamim.

Was the son in law of Rabbi Avraham Chaim of Zlatshov. Sometimes he would sign his name Dov Ber scion of Tzvi.

Rabbi Yissachar Dov from Zlatshov received many approbations on his books from leading Rabbis including Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Barditchuv, the Maggid of Kuznitz, the Chozeh of Lublin and Ohev Yisroel of Apteh.
