[[Jalouise windows|jalousie windows]] are a popular window option for enclosed porches, pool rooms, garden rooms and other areas in which the homeowner wants increased air flow. Jalouise windows are also known as "louvre windows." They include large moveable horizontal slats/louvers which are built into the window frame. The slats are frequently made with patterned or clouded privacy glass to provide enhanced privacy options when they are closed. The louvers tilt open using a lever which operates them and they tilt down to rest against each other when the window is closed.  Jalouise windows are not good insulators as they do not form an air-tight seal when closed, but in a suitable location they can compliment many different architectural designs.
