The Artists Colony Inn is owned by Jeff and Benay Katz. Originally from Timrat, the Katzes moved to Tzfat to open a bed and breakfast after the children had all moved out of their house. Benay Katz an English teacher, authored a book 'Waiting for Peace: How Israelis Live with Terrorism'.

Jeff is an experienced licensed guide who takes visitors to out-of-the way sites and allows guests to experience Israel and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of the land.

The Artists Colony Inn is a small 4 suite Tzimmer located in the center of Safed’s Old City. Advertised as a boutique hotel experience in Old City Tzfat, the Artists Colony Inn is housed in an old stone building, restored to reflect the area’s traditional architecture.

There are four custom designed guestrooms at the Artist Colony Inn, the Aryeh, Lianna, Tzivya and Avital. Guests can choose a room with a jacuzzi, a view of the Old City or an entrance to one of the Inn’s porches or inner courtyards. Each room is uniquely decorated and designed. All have large queen-sized beds, air conditioning, heating and LCD televisions.
