Rabbi Natan HaBavli fourth generation Tana from the family of the Resh Galusa in Bavel. He immigrated to Eretz Yisroel and became one of the Sages of Usha. He was later appointed as Av Bais Din under the Nassi Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel and Rabbi Meir serving as the Chacham. He is credited with having authored 'Avot d'Rabbi Natan'.
